Sometimes a character limit is too restricting for the nuances and intricacies of local government. That’s why Peter’s Perspective is launching on peteriversen.org.

The purpose of this blog is to share deeper dives on topical fiscal issues facing Monroe County, categorized into three foci:

• Climate Crisis response

• Promoting Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion

• Public Health

All topics will be related to fiscal issues and impacts.

The longer format will permit more depth, increasing understanding and conversation around competing or complementary policy choices. It also allows for the intersection of scholarship and public policy. I hope to showcase research that can inform the public dialogue.
